I cant decide which one to get..this one>> image_11219.jpg or this one>> image_16718.jpg it will mostly be used for gasket surfaces, and some occasional light grinding or polishing. I like the idea of the front exhaust model, the second one, but cant find as much info on it as the more popular rear exhaust model.

I had the one on the left. I lost it(long story) otherwise I would still be using it.

The reason I got the one of the left is speed control. I put my finger between the body and the "trigger". This allowed for better speed control for me.

I got the first one well it looks like that for all we know it could be made by a different plant every few months. It has held up for more than a year but its not very powerful, not bad cut wouldn't want to put a cut off wheel or anything on it, for light gasket removal with Roloc discs or something it's not bad for 7 bucks or whatever with the coupon.

Have the one on the left ( as well as a straight one ) been using both for a number of years and they have held up pretty well. these ones are dedicated for use with my carbide burrs and have a husky brand dedicated for use with rolock type discs.
BTW - like your avatar pic. never knew Thor played footbal. Mathews- true beast.

Mathews- true beast. Yep! Hes old school, He comes from a long line of football family.. and can back up his **** talking on the field..but off the field he acts like a pro, and even admits to bad plays hes made, which doesnt happen often, everything I like about a linebacker. Kevin Greene being his coach doesnt hurt either, Greene is a crazy M.F. too! Now back to our regularly scheduled HF grinder discussion. LOL!

All I buy is hf grinders. I have a few of the ones on the left and so straight die grinders. I usually just run them until they die and buy new ones.

I got a deal on a few of HD's " Husky " model die grinders and prefer them much more than the HF pieces. I bought about 8 of them and just keep the arbors in them so I dont have to keep switching them out.

A 7 dollar grinder may work,,, but for about 30 you can get a pretty good one.

I am sure you can, he asked about HF grinders.

I had a coupon and bought 2 of them just for kicks. They have lasted over a year and have done whatever I have asked of them. I don't use one all day or anything. But I have saved 23 dollars with no issues.

I have the one on the left as well... Not bad for a POS Chinese angle grinder. Dont expect it to be able to do any heavy work!

I Believe they have them under the Husky brand. Farmhand is another one. They are one step above the bottom but wayyyyy better. I am all for saving money, 23$ is ok, but the margins here between a 30 $ tool and a 300 one are a reach.
The man above may be more familiar with the models, its been a while but this is a good example in this pic. The red one in the middle is a Husky, it was 30$. You can buy a HF as low as 10 and some for 20 but they are not in the same class as this, it last 10x as long and has 3 times the power and has lasted as well or better than the 300$ one. Does the same job at any rate.

Its high on my list of bargain tools.

:thumbup:Thanks for the tips on the Husky model guys! That goes on my list. For now im going to get the HF model on the left. The nearest Hf is an hour and a half away, and a coworker is going there this weekend. Hes got a coupon for 10.99 for it. I have used, but not owned Hf grinders before. I think it will be perfect for me to get by for a while as all I am really looking for is a light duty small grinder for gasket removal...I might just get two of them. I dont think I can go wrong here, considering my expectations. My shop has grinders for heavy duty use, so I have no need for that right now.

I have the HF one on the left. I think it was $9.99 or so. Check the box before you leave the store to ensure you have both wrenches and the collets (one of my tools from them came with both 1/8 and 1/4 collets). Before using, generously lube with tool oil until it comes out the exhaust. Mine has worked great for about 2 years now of weekend warrior use.

Depending on what you are doing, you might want to buy two or more. Then equip each with your abrasive of choice to avoid having to switch back and forth.

A friend at work bought the one on the left. I told him it was a waste of money even if it was free. The grinder failed with less than 1 hour of time on it. A spit-shined turd is still a turd.

The one on left I have had for 2 years and works well. Out of the box, the 90° gear is dry, need to add a bit of grease, I never had a problem. I can't think of anyone else that sells one for $7! Get the one on the left, the handle is nicer on the bottom.
