I found a HF bandsaw that is missing some parts. I have a motor for it but it's missing the blade guides ( probably not the correct name for everything missing ). Since I have 0$ in it so far I decided to try to fix it. I found some blade guides with bearings I can buy but the parts they attach to are gone also and I cannot find these. It might be because I'm not sure what the correct name to search for is. I've attached a picture of a bandsaw that does have them and marked the parts. Any of you know what these are called and/or/if I can buy them?

They almost look like something that could be fabbed up if you can weld (I'm assuming that's why you have the saw, unless you're using it for cutting pipe), or know of someone that does. Only catch is you'd probably have to lug the entire thing to someone so they could get everything aligned correctly.

I think those were sold under other brand names (Northern Industrial, Grizzly, probably Jet) so if you can look around you may be able to find a parts list from one of those if you can't track down a parts diagram from HF.

I can weld and have the stuff to do it. The problem with fabricating the parts is I haven't seen what the parts are supposed to look like and am not sure exactly how they work.

Buy another one on Craigslist, use it as a guide to what you need to make take all the best parts and make a great saw, then sell the worst one.

I've been looking on CraigsList and Ebay for a while now with no luck yet. Probably the smart thing to do at this point is give up on this one, and save up a little dough to buy a better one.

Go to Grizzly and pick out the Grizzly model saw that is the same. There you can order any parts needed for very reasonable prices. The HF and Grizzly are exactly the same except for paint and decals.

They are not super important. They do help stabilize and align the blade, however they also hit the clamp. As a result I end up running with mine all the way back most of the time.

A HF bandsaw is generally not the correct tool for super precise cuts anyway. It is good for severing things that will be cleaned up later.
