Just finally bought a harbor freight bead roller and welded on it to make it more stiff tonight. Need this for rolling a bead on a friends intercooler pipe. Anyone here make a fence or guide for this they would mind sharing? Need something quick and simple so it's a even bead.

Nothing to add, but I've been looking for a roller & have looked into ways to beef it up so it doesn't flex as much.
I saw pics of how a guy made a fence..... if I can find where they are, i'll post a link.
Let us know how / if you like it & what did you pay for it?

I have a HF bead roller also, and bought it to roll beads onto intercooler pipes also. I just drew a line on the pipe to keep the bead straight. One of these days when I have the room I will properly mount the roller and change out the crank for a steering wheel.

Are you able to get yours to not leave lines on the pipe also?

Not sure what you mean here. The only line mine leaves is the bead, at least the last time I used it I think it didn't leave any other lines, but that was almost two years ago now.

I.ve had my H F bead roller for about 6 years, I just pulled it apart to check it out. The shafts were gauled in the "bearing blocks, and the allen screws holding th gears were loose. The first thing to do to one is add grease Zerks for the Bearing blocks. I added angle iron frame reinforcements and a 12 volt HF winch to power it. More info was on Metalmeet forums. For a skate board lower wheel I found a orane poly roller on Reids that works good. to make a tipping die I bought a 22 MM browning hub on surplus center and a matching V belt pully.
