Hi all,

Just bought the HF blasting cabinet, I won't complain about it here as that topic has been beat to death...

Anyway, my question is regarding the sizing of the air line? I have a 60 gal Kobalt air compressor that can take I think up to a 3/4 line. I was going to buy the Rapid Air 90500 1/2" kit but I am unsure weather or not that size line will work, is it to small or will it work? The only other things I do in the shop is your typical air tools, needler, impact, die grinder... they have a bigger kit with a more rigid line but it's almost 3 time more expensive

Bigger is better with air line. If your using blasters, grinders and sanders particularly. If your far from your compressor (or have many elbows), bigger line will help with line losses too.

3/4 is the minimum Id recommend for a main trunk line. You could drop that down to 1/2 for your point of use lines.

What does your compressor flow for CFM? 3/4 can flow up to about 80CFM @100psi over 100 ft, but that is a straight line. By the time you add a bunch of elbows, filters and couplers, that drops considerably. 1/2 flows over 50 CFM, but again, you have line losses.

I run mine using 1/2 pipe run with regular 1/4 couplers. It works just fine. Your compressor can't keep up for a long blasting run, so i would not overthink things.
