I have three of the lights, so far no failures; oldest is about 4 months. Also have probably 10 other lights that use the 18650 batteries, and one of the things I like about the Braun is that it is the ONLY one with multiple modes that does NOT make you cycle thru EVERY MODE to turn it off - pick a mode when you turn it on, and if you wait 3-4 seconds the NEXT push is OFF.

Yeah, not perfect; but it's probably as close to perfect as I am (especially @ 74 :lol_hitti ) ... Steve

The one I bought last year got all floppy and then the light wouldn't burn long. I threw away a few rechargeable batteries before I figured out it was the light and not the batteries. It went into the trash.

Through October the 20th they again have this for $19.99 with a coupon. I bought a new one earlier today. The coupon today is on their home page.

I've been told they make a pill for when things get floppy and don't work for long..... :lol_hitti

With two lights, stick the magnetic ends together and pretend you have a Darth Maul Light Saber and chase the dogs through the house.

Repurposing at its best !

I have 3 but going to go buy a couple more while the coupon deal is going on. I lost my first one after a oil change then remembered where it might have been. I crawled back under the car and pulled it off the frame. Needing to be a high Vis color would be my only complaint so far.

How come I found this post after I bought the worklight?
love mine, finally something bright and slim enough to stick under a mower - or hone your Jedi skills.
I charge mine off my Raspberry Pi computer with no problems.

Odd as it sounds I don't think it will work that way because the magnets will repulse each other if I remember correct...

There are two possibilities. The most logical explanation, and what matches what I've seen with their magnetic trays, is that the magnets are placed randomly, which would make half of the flashlight combinations attract, and the other half repel. For the same reason, I have to maintain two stacks of magnet trays.

The other possibility is that the N-S orientation of the magnets is perpendicular to the axis of the light. In such a setup, the lights will spin to properly align when stuck together, but they would all stick like this. However, I don't think this is the case with these lights.

Grab the link from a few posts up. You need that to get it for 20$. I finally broke down and bought one a few minutes ago.

Half of the base of one is attracted to half of the base of the second one. The other halves repel each other.

So they sort of stick together. I tried it out on the dog, she glared at me and went back to sleep. Maybe not the best "Darth Maul Light Saber" but they've been very good for whatever else I've used them for.

I have had one for over a year. Main one in the garage but it gets used everywhere. Even my 2 y/o gets ahold of is sometimes. The charging port was just starting to fail. Would sometimes make connections, sometimes it wouldnt charge.

So I printed off my receipt from my email (thanks harbor freight) and headed back in. At first they read the date wrong and told me to go grab one off the shelf. On my way past the counter they called me over and broke the news. "Sorry sir, its a YEAR and 6 months old, I thought it was only 6 months old." I politely asked if there was anything they can do. The manager walked over and we stuck a deal. I purchased the warranty "today" (its $11) and well give you the new one, and you have the warranty for 2 years.
I was fine with that.

The battery that comes with it is not the best. Get yourself an extra pair of REAL Panasonic (be care of the knockoffs!) 18650 batteries and charger and never use the charging port again. As a matter of fact, I've never used the charging port on mine. When the light dies, I swap in a new battery and keep right on rolling.

Any advice on where to buy from to get REAL panasonic batteries?

Most of these lights fail because of corrosion on the inside or the hinge breaks. I process failed ones all the time. Menards carries their branded version of it. 20 bucks and a cheaper replacement plan and i think it has a one year warranty on.

I was fine with that.

An $11 warranty for a $20 light? :headscrat

My original is a little over a year old, no issues yet. I picked up a 2nd one a couple weeks ago.

Greased the threads on the Braun LED light today, makes it much smoother and quieter.

Next time I am in the US, I will buy a second one

TL;DR but has anyone found a way to snug up the joint between the body and the light bar? Not that it is causing any issues, but for a light that is perfect for me in every other way, that slop bothers me!

If you are talking about tightening the light bars detents there is a Phillips screw down in the hole. The hole will only accept a Phillips screw driver with a shaft of .170” or smaller.

If you are talking about the twisting rotation of the light bar head I don’t have a clue.

alright, I couldn't take it anymore.
These threads on how good this light is and a coupon for $26, I finally gave in to try one.
Seriously, this thing is ridiculously handy. I get so tired of old school drop light shining in my eyes, shining everywhere besides where I need light, falling out or just not fitting in.

I'm going back for five more for Christmas gifts!

They go on sale from time to time for $19.99

They are super handy. The upgrade is to get some higher capacity 18650 batteries and a charger. There are reports that the micro USB charging input is weak, charging the batteries in a dedicated charger solves that issue.

Attached to my house as most are.... Lol
Might have to buy one and return it with the higher price receipt from recently. It was in last 2 weeks I paid retail for it. Still cheaper than my other branded lights of the same type. Some are better quality and some worse so it's a crapshoot. I think I have about 6-7 and that's probably for each type of light I own. I have snappy lights and versions of other brands cheaper than the snappy lights. Some **** and some have impressed me.

They will give you the difference if less than 30 days. I did that recently with a tool box purchase. I am going to be buying 5 or 6 of them if I can. A side note if you are part of the inside track club I think it is called, you can buy them on Wednesday November 27th at the black friday price.

I've had 3 almost a year now in daily auto shop use, use 2 all day long 6 days a week .
One failed so 3rd spare in use .
Use a 18650 charger and couple extra batteries so got endless light all day long .
They are little less durable over astro lights but 3rd the price and really nice to use .
For 19-20bucks you can't go far wrong, look at menards version if want longer warranty or pay HF for warranty plan .
I've spent over 200bucks on astro light in couple years, that gives me ten of these .
You cry if loose or have an accident with one but the braun is almost disposable cost for my work use scenario .
