Has anyone added the side tray to their tool box? On the cart it's attached with four bolts, I was hoping to mount it with the handle mounts and stay under 30lbs. My main decision is whether to go with the black or red tray size wise. If anyone has done this please let me know or post up a pic.

I guess I will attempt this and document it. Most of my service manuals are digital so I want a clean surface for my laptop. This appears to be the perfect solution.

I haven't done this either. I searched on YouTube and did a general search online and didn't find anything about putting the side tray on a 44. It's a cool idea and shouldn't be to hard to do. Let us know how it turns out.

I put the black side tray on my black HF cart. not HF brand, I think it was Sun or Sunnex brand or something which was in the hot deals forum here a few years back. supposedly identical to the HF but was on sale ridiculously cheap.

IIRC, I did have to hammer the top lip a little tighter over the box so the lid would close. you can see it if you zoom in.

I just zipped a couple self tapping screws in it after removing the handle.

It's since been removed as I don't use the cart for hand tools anymore and is just sitting...
