I got one of these Central Pneumatic "Gravity Feed Abrasive Blaster Gun with 20 oz. Hopper", basically a gun with a gravity hopper on top, as a hand-me-down. I've never used it, but I have a bunch of small projects, some garden tools and a couple of tractor implements, that could use some rust removal and repainting. What should I expect for this thing? I also got a partial bag of Black Beauty slag media, and I have a small Porter Cable pancake compressor. I know it's not big enough but it's not like I'm going to blast a whole car or a bunch of steel beams. Little stuff, less than 2-3 square feet in most cases. Any tips or tricks?

Not enough capacity or power from a small compressor. It will just spit the media at the piece.

The pancake compressor will slow you down more then the little sandblasting gun.

There's only one way to find out, hook it up and run what ya got. I would suggest chemical rust removal for the bigger items

Glass bead might be easier to shoot through there with a lower cfm/pressure compressor.
