Have a brake issue on a trip today.... need a jack, I don't see any HF coupons that work with floor jacks. Anyone have a coupon that works?

That 2 ton long reach low profile is worth it.... a little heavy to carry but nicer than a lot of name branded ones. Better than the 3 ton low profile ones. Yes I got both.

I was looking at the aluminum 1.5 ton. On sale for 89.99.

I bought one of those a bunch of years ago and once I got home and took it out of the box and TRIED to lift my vehicle I QUICKLY returned it. The handle is far too short to use without busting a nut so either get a longer handle or a bigger jack.

Dog, does the rapid lift feature really work? They claim 3-1/2 pumps to lift a car.

I bought that jack with a $99 coupon a couple years ago, but I'm not sure whether those coupons come around anymore. I can't tell you how long it might last, but it seems like a well made jack.

I have been watching out for a coupon on this jack - I have seen a couple of coupons for $129 come around but the days of getting this one for $99 are long gone I'm afraid.

Ditto on the long reach one. The only problem with mine is the screw that held the handle in fell out and the hole got stripped somehow. I still use it without the screw, just can't yank the handle hard or it comes out.

I had this problem too. You can't really crank down on it, you just thread it in lightly, add some loctite. Still their best jack by far.

It works, but not for lifting... suppose for you to quickly place your jack into position or you have "thunder thighs" to lift with your feet. The heavy lifting is still using the long handle... Heck I think it's a gimmick thing useless feature. Not needed to go F1 speed on jacking the car. but the long reach feature works nicely on my "UN-intentionally" lowered car. and the lift is smooth, unlike the 2ton craftman alumn jack, its a struggle. as far as long lasting.. I got it for about 3 yrs, used it on Summer sits in cold garage about 3 winter. Dunno how long it will last till it breaks. I have seen the neighborhood tire shops have them as well but have not talk to them about it. But one thing for sure, I wouldn't get that 1.5 ton $70ish dollar aluminum jack from HF. It is ****. Pure ****. (unfortunate thing, I have it also)

It's 3 pump with the foot to get it to position contact with the lift point.... then that extra 1/2 lift to actually lift the car....
A gimmick. Don't pay attention to that.

lol I only use that 1.5ton to lift a corner of my car just enought so I can get my HW 3ton under it lol. It is also good to support an axel when removing shocks and other **** like that.

I wouldn't use it for jacking a car. My dad bought it for me for Xmas. He used it once to change tires on my moms car but now uses the HW 3ton lol.

Well, I bought it... the HF 68050 jack. Man, this thing is BIG. Its a lot longer than I envisioned. And heavy! I'll try it out this weekend. Thanks for enabling me! With tax, $151.

The 1.5 ton aluminum jack worked just fine to get into the rear brakes on our van while on our out of state trip. Turned out the ears on the brake pads had fused themselves with the glides, no doubt thanks to all the snow/ice melt products we've had to drive through this past winter.

I'm keeping this little jack, its fine for lifting one corner. The footprint is a little small for lifting one end (entire axle). I have 3 other really large heavy floor jacks for big jobs.

Thanks for the help, this forum rocks.

there is a huge diff between the 2ton low profile (better) and the 3 tone low profile.... inches differences if that matters.. check that spec out.

You are thinking of the 2 ton, but the sale is on the 3 ton.

I've been waiting for them to put the steel ones on sale for a while and the $82.82 deal is pretty damn good.

They open at 8am and I'll be waiting at the door. No doubt they'll go fast in this area.

Quick Edit: I don't own the aluminum or steel version of any HF jack, but know enough people that do and no one has recommended the 1.5 ton aluminum. Some guys said the higher ton aluminum were ok as they have a bigger footprint and can handle a little more, but all of the guys with steel are happy.

Another Edit: the parking lot sale HF has from 6/5-6/7 will have the 3 ton steel jacks for $78.66 if anyone wants to wait and save $4.

meh there are coupons for the regular 3ton for $74.99 so that $78.66 isn't such a big deal
