These things are a POS for car moving but I finally found a use for two of them.
The other two I'll use as engine storage stands like someone showed awhile back.

So they are no good for moving a car on a smooth floored garage?

I don't think so. The steel wheels are to small and I would have to hammer them into the direction I wanted to go. Could really mess up a coated floor too.
Once rolling it was fair but not worth the effort it takes. I do better with the car on a floor jack.
Some of the better brands may work, but these don't.

i've used them for moving a car around and i do agree that getting the wheels in the right direction can be kind of a pain, but for the price i didn't expect much. two people make it easier to move the car, but it can be done with one person.

I posted about using them for engines. I have several with engines on them. Work great for that and transmission's. They just had them on sale for $29.95 a pair and I got 2 more. Can't beat 15 bucks for a engine dolly.

I have a set, they take a little umph to get going, but I don't worry about it taking off on me. The casters are junk, but for $30 per pair, you can't even buy 4 decent caster for that much, let alone 8. I bought mine used from a local guy for $40 for all 4, he also sold me a Whirly Jig rotisserie for $500, so I'm not complaining.

I have used them under my Corvair, and they were OK. For a car that weighs more than 2500 pounds, they will just collapse. Wish that I knew that they were on sale. I could use another set of 4 for my 10 year project, heading into its next decade....:lol_hitti

I had to comment, I know how some of you guys expect Snap-On quality from HF. I use them to move boats and trailers around my shop.
I agreed that it takes effort to get them moving. To make it easier, I removed the wheels from the casters and ran them across my belt sander to remove the casting flaws, polished the "axles" and lubed the axles and bearings and put it back together. This also works for their engine stands as well.
You can't beat the prices, even if you need to finie tune them a bit.

I thought the HF dollys were junk. I bought some 2 years ago and one of them broke after about 15 minutes. As for moving the car, it took two of us all we had to get my car going. Granted this is a 3800lb car but these things are 'rated' for 1500lbs each.

Once the dolly broke, I took them all back and went back to the jack method of moving my car.
