HF Double Garage Screen Door Install

I went ahead and bought this at HF for $16 plus tax with the 20% off coupon.
It came rolled up in a package with the mosquito type netting fabric and a bit of hardware.
I attached to the bottom metal piece of my door with self tapping screws and washers. Took out the 8 lightweight pieces of tubing by cutting out the stitches in the bottom material and put in some old pump rod that I had laying around.
I know I will have to do something to hold the edges besides the provided velcro tabs, a windy day and they will pull right off.
Put some straps to hold it in place while rolled up until I think of something else to use.
For what it cost I think it will work great since I have no ventilation at all in my shop. I need to see if any bugs come in at the top of the door while it is open and tackle that issue if it arises.

The screens are inexpensive for what you get. I'm impressed by it, but don't really have a bug problem in the Seattle area, so I'm not sure what this would do for me.

Also, they don't make single door widths for some reason. Curious if you could cut one down?

I think it would be easy to make an 8 foot section by just cutting the top strip. You would have to add the fasteners on the door edge where the magnet closure is.

I've been thinking about a screen. I live in association and garage door closed my cars in the driveway stick over the curb in the middle about six inches (Culdesac). The HOA also wants doors closed. From time to time I just leave the door of my packed full of stuff garage open and pull up with the nose of the car in the garage and the tail out of the street. I can only get away with it infrequently.

Reason they claim for garage doors always closed is security and critters getting into the garage, so its got to be a good seal, but a few inches higher than my hood would solve parking and ventilation fine for me, just open the whole door if I want to walk through.

Any other screen threads here?

I really like the idea of attaching it to the bottom of the door.

What do you do when closing the door? Do you just let it pile up on the floor?

I have to kinda pull it in as the door is closing without tripping the safety sensors

I don't think it would be hard to rig something attached to the bottom of the main garage door, pulley above, and maybe the middle of the side of the screen. As the door goes down, the screen goes up.

Why not set up a couple pulleys and some rope and have it up and down like an old bambo curtain. maybe mount it an inch or two up on the back side of the door, and it could be stored there full time..?
