HF foldable engine crane.

Damn... now I'm tempted to sell mine and get one of these, I can't remember what mine is rated for but it was at least 2 ton might be a 3 ton... Mine doesn't fold up and is a pain to store so I have thought about getting one of these for awhile. But at this price w/ a 25% coupon I could sell mine on CL for what this thing would cost almost and not have storage issues.

What are the common issues with the HF crane?

My only complaint is the crappy weld job on the positioning handle's mounting plate:

But this is easily fixed if you can weld.

I have the large one, it's a fine product. One of very few HF sourced tools in my shop. I've had it a few years, worth the $149+tax I spent. I very much appreciate that it has fold-up legs for storage.

I have an OTC, nothing to write home about as far as quality but one class larger than the HF, I am sure there can be bad welding on any machine but got 2 buds with them, HF, one I helped open the box on 25 yrs ago and the welding was flawless and had not one single problem with it.

The HF has a gage heavier boom than many of the other knockoffs, but is the base unit with orange paint sold as several other mid level market units.
