The new Warrior stuff is lithium powered 18v and so far there's a drill for $28 and a light for $10 bottom end of the market type stuff. They compared it to Ryobi. Personally I would still go with Ryobi as a homeowner grade tool but this would work as a gift for that kid going off to college, first apartment, or for the non tool inclined person.

Finally something from harbor freight that is actually priced like something at HF should be
I think their Hercules brand should be more appropriately named Icarus :lol_hitti
Joking aside LI for $30 looks pretty good. Even better if it works with the 20% off coopin.
I don't really need one, but $24 might be nice to have a spare so the old lady stops stealing mine.

Edit: got a bit too caught up by them being LI and failed to notice those torque specs :spit:

Curious, Warrior has been the ‘brand’ for their cheap drill bits for a while. 199 in/lbs of torque. Is the Ryobi they compare it to that weak? It is priced right for a throwaway tool like the Drillmaster stuff.

Wow a LiOn upgrade to that cheap bottom stuff they had :D

Flashlight still looks the same Drill specs the same 900 rpm max but cant remember if the old one had a light.

Hope it's still like $19 with coupon then I can flip a few on my tool table

A lot of the cheap accessories (1/4 hex nut drivers etc.) are labeled Warrior

looks to me lik drillmaster Gen2.

pretty much... same rpm, drill master doesn't mention torque in the specs but i wouldn't be shocked if it was the same

warrior is basically lithium ion drillmaster

the ryobi it "compares" to does up to 1300rpm... can't find any spec for torque

If HF needs any help with advertising their new "creations", I am willing to help out
Warrior Tools; for the handyman who does a war dance whenever a tool fails.
Herculies Tools: for the handyman who can throw the tool a record breaking distance.

Crappy specs except for light-duty homeowner use. 199 in-lbs will get a lot of drill bits stuck. I'm sure we'll be seeing them at yard sales in a few years.

Maybe I'll buy one for my next sheet metal roof and leave the good drill on the charger.

If it doesn't hold up, I'll ***** about what a piece of **** it is.

On the flipside, if my ex MIL wants to hang a shelf to put her tea cups on oll recommend the Milwaukee fuel, so that she will never feel disappointed. :)

na... that thing looks cheap, I woudn't think of anyone semi pro even consider using that... maybe some housewives, or househusbands.... but it is a great source for DIY motor projects ;), comes with battery, charger and the motor and gears.

Yeah, it's probably a good drill to drop off a roof. :)

I agree 100%. This is the perfect "Harbor Freight Special" drill and will serve the "1-2 times a year use Harry Homeowner" just fine. Although the specs seem weak, it will likely handle all of the picture hanging and light assembly workings that Harry Homeowner will ever come across without a problem. Don't forget, this is actually Harbor Freight-cheap, not some confused, Vulcanized, Herculean Icon named Bauer Merlin McGraw. And although the batteries are probably junky, the LiIon will handle Harry's infrequent use much better than his old NiCad Drill Master. To me, this is nothing like Ryobi but more like modern Black & Decker (i.e. what's found in Walmart, Target, etc.)

Best part is, if it's a total disaster, Harry's only out $30...and maybe also his house that burnt down from the cheap LiIon. But seriously, this is a true Harbor Freight Special. Good job HFT.
