So today I bought one of those cheap heat guns from hf. Ran it on high for several minutes and no smoke. Well, so far. My question is that there are two dimples on each side of the gun. No idea what that is for nor can I find any explanation. Maybe so one can make a stand ? Ideas ? Thanks,

I’ve run mine for well over an hour at a time on multiple occasions trying to speed dry texture jobs. They plain work. No idea what the dimples are.

The cheaper HF heat guns work for a little while, but I've gone through 3 of them. Two because of the switch and one just burnt out. I bought a Porter Cable adjustable heat gun on Amazon for $30 sale and it's lasted years without ever doing any cooling cycle when I'm done with it. Very sold on the PC heat gun.

Yea, this heat gun will be used like a few times a year. If I find I need one more I will shell out the bucks.
The kit doesn't look like it would need those dimples. Just odd that they are there.

Make sure to unplug it while not in use!!!!! Buddy’s shop burnt down from one with a bad switch.
