I've owned the 50 foot version for about 6 months and I have found no problems yet. It is all stamped steel and brass.

No. The US standard is known as GHT - "garden hose thread"- it has an outer diameter of 1.0625 inches and a pitch of 11.5 tpi.
Adapter fittings are available.

we have this one at work and it works good when to wind it up the right way lol. Otherwise the threads come apart if it rolled backwards lol
