I couldn't help but laugh when I noticed my 17mm from my 25 set of deep impact sockets

They have a couple of grades of impact sets I have the shallow and deep Pittsburgh chrome moly metric sets and have no issues like that. The cheap impact wrenches are are also poor quality compared to the Earthquake series. I have an older 1/2" Eartquake that has been trouble free. Even HF has different grades of tools. With the better ones you have a good shot at something usable.

That's the first time I've seen or heard of that from Pittsburgh on here. Impact sockets are one thing I will vouche for at HF.

Weird. ALL of my HF impacts are right on center. I won't say too much about the consistency of the black oxide finish, aside from the fact that I don't much care about that.

Is that a Pittsburgh or one of the less expensive ones? My HF Pittsburghs are are OK, too.

About 30 years ago, I needed a set of deep impact . I was looking at Craftsman (most all of my stuff was Craftsman back then) but they were spendy. Then I remembered a mail order flier from this place called Harbor Freight. They were so inexpensive that I couldn't help not buying them. I still use those sockets every week and I have beat the living **** out of them.

When I needed a set of Metric deeps a few years back, I went to HF. The first time I used one, it split. No problems with the exchange but boy what a let down. So for so good with the Metrics since then.

I got a set of deep impacts made by pittsurgh, they are holding up great so far and seem to be pretty tough. :D

I have an unmarked unstamped 1/4 sae snap on industrial finish socket it came in a master set. I bought used my snap on guy would swap it out but don't even use standard, so what's the point would still just sit there so might as well keep it for a novelty. My snap on guy is great he doesnt care where or how i got a tool if it breaks or is flawed he will swap it out. Went through 2 brand new dual80 3/8 fhlf80a ratchets straight from snap on . The first one half the head was ground off, the second the hole in the handle for the bolt for the flex head was drilled bad and it was scratched all to hell but that's after getting the wrong ratchet to start with they sent me the 26"? 1/2 shlf80a but they let me keep it had to wait 2 weeks to get it as it was back ordered even it is dated 2013 lol and came scratched up tell me how that happened. But at least I got a free $250 big daddy ratchet I'm in no way upset with snap on as they treated me great but they do have a QC issue maybe it's a single dude who hates life lol who knows. It is understandable though as they make them by the thousands with mainly computer controlled robotics and some do slip through the cracks.

I have a few HF impacts they seem okay, I did snap my 3/4 to 1/2 adapter off and 1/2 to 3/8 those adapter/reducers they sell are straight up garbage.

I wrote a review on the HF site and said I liked the sockets except for the poor durability of the black oxide finish. The auto censor blocked my review for a racist comment. That software needs work. It is no worse than the one at work. Discussing a replacemet car engine, I used the term bare block. The warning against **** popped up.
