Hey guys,

I finally took the plunge and decided to become a member of the forum. So far lots of good info....Anyways, im leaning towards buying a HF 56" Industrial and wanted to know if anyone has put a worktop on theirs, either bought or homebuilt. I know Snappy sells em but I cant justify spending almost as much as the box for a top. Or if someone can provide me to a link if this question has already been asked. Thanks!

There is a ton of info on worktops here! I'm sure plenty can help out!

I was at Lowe's the other day and they were clearing out some hardwood flooring (leftover after an install?). I was really considering snatching it up to make a top...

serarch hf 56 on here. it's been a popular topic. I think there have been some 56" top options that may or may not fit it. Some say the cabinet can not carry the weight of a top cabinet, others say it will. If I wanted more storage on this, I'd add a top box if I found a good match. I've got one and it's been good for me. drawers feel good loaded.

oh, I misunderstood it. I bought a super thin piece of wood for mine for now. I am going to do an MDF one when this wears out though.

Ikea butcher block tops are fairly popular for a good "finished look" top, and beefy enough to take a fairly good beating.

After that I'd consider heavy plywood (Hardwood skinned?), then heavy melamine.

Last would be plywood, and If you go there, you can top it with Hard board.
