HF infrared thermometer deal

3 days only it's on sale for 19.99. I though mine was a good deal at 25- I use the thing constantly and the accuracy and range are astounding for a small, inexpensive unit. Looks like this:

Display got corrupted on mine after a month. That was a replacement for the first one. Total POS. But at 19 bucks, it's a fun thing to play with.

I bought one of the smaller ones, about the size of a key fob. I use it to check the temp of my nitrous bottles. Well, I did.

Whats the temperature range on this one?

I can one of the key fob ones in my rc car bag that I use, and tonight for sh@#s and giggles pointed at the thermostat housing on the car....... All it said has high, well no Sh@#.

So I was wondering if this one is good enough for auto usage say reading temps into the 600 degree are would be nice

I've been thinking about picking one up for my kitchen but was unsure about their accuracy. Do they read surface temperature only, or is there a way to get internal temperature on meat?

I have had one for a year and a half and use it to check for cold spots in the house and garage. I also use the laser pointer on my yellow lab that loves to chase the red dot.

-20C to 520C I used it to check a lot of stuff on the car, radiator hose temps, brake disk/wheel temps etc

Surface temp only, maybe not so good for turkey but very handy to make sure the oven is at the right temp.

You'd have to have a probe for internal. Funny, my multi-meter came with one. Can you see me in the kit with a meter on the turkey? "How many Ohms does that bird register?"
