Sometimes... I have only used mine about 4 times and saved about 20.00 since the first day. But, I originally got it at a tent sale. Plate compactor- 250.00 Parts washer 50.00 and Winch 5000lb for 75.00. I figured I got my membership fee back on that day.

is the track membership worth it?

For me, I didn't think it was. I have a HF nearby so I can go in and easily buy 1 item at a time. I found that the ITC price was never any better than a single item, on sale, with a 20% coupon on top.

If you're shopping online, or only go there every once and a while for a lot of things at once, then it may be worth it for you.

Some times they will also take the 20% off coupon also,,,got the welding table for like 35 bucks from a coworker that had the membership...A few people are reporting that there HF will only accept orig, coupons,,,not scanned or just codes...also if you are buying a bunch of stuff, the 20% off only works on 1 item,,so u have to stand in line again,,,pAin

I had it and let it expire. It was not worth it for me as I only saved $3.00 on the paper towel magnetic holder. ITC prices are about the same or maybe lower when using 25% coupon. I did not see any benefits as being a ITC member it is a waste of money IMO.

I am a Toolaholic,Sometimes I regret it,Especially when the Toolman wont give me no credit

My membership actually ran out a couple months back and I'm not planning on renewing it. Only reason I signed up for it was a discount on the 5-drawer tool carts.

If you can buy one item at a time and wait for that item to go on sale then not really. A 20% off coupon or magazine coupon will usually be a little cheaper. If you want to buy multiple things on the same trip it can save you quite a bit. They send you a little newspaper of coupons each month. In that paper they have a bunch of coupons. You can use as many of those at the same time as you like. It also gets you into their clearance and tents sales early. That's really only handy if they have a great sale on something you really want. That let's you pick it up before the masses take all of them.

I have had one for quite a few years and have allways gotten my money back every year. Worth it to me to get into there tent and sidewalk sales early. I have saved just getting in early to get what I need just in case they only have a few of the certain item I am looking to get.

I have never had one, but my Dad did and let his run out because he didn't feel it benefited him any. I was surprised because at the time he was Mr. Harbor Freight.

My Harbor Freight has gotten pretty stingy though. They are all about finding anything in fine print and interpretation (of that print) so you can not use a coupon. It's kind of made him and I back off from shopping their over the past year.

I still go in every once in a while for one or two things, like I bought the 5 drawer red tool cart recently from them.

My father had one for a couple years - never saved anything near the membership. Just added to the coupons he got emailed and a slightly different version of the sale flyer from what I got mailed. not worth it at all unless you're about to spend big bucks on outfitting yourself with HF products...and who here is going to do that?

It depends on what you're buying. I bought it so they would take the 25% coupon and the $299 coupon in the motorcycle lift. That alone was worth it. They also mentioned that if I bought anything usually excluded from the 20% or 25% off coupons I'd be able to use it because of being an ITC member. I don't know if all locations do this or not but that was what I was told.

This is what it seems like all the HF's around here are doing as well. Wanting to verify where the coupon came from by email etc. Cashiers are always rude but if you can get it to go through it's worth it.

I've found they will tell you any lie necessary to get you to buy it the day their boss offers a $25 chilis gift card to the employee with the most signups so he can get his (significantly larger) bonus for having the most signups in the region or whatever they do

There are a few things about it that might be more worth it for some

You get to go early to the sidewalk sale. Yes it is them getting rid of junk and getting paid for it. But if you're the only one person there have been times you get to name your price. If you're a morning person its nice and almost worth it just to avoid the crowds if you're going there because of one of the weekend sale prices.

You can try to use it as leverage if you want to pay less for something big. The employees are rewarded/punished less and the managers are encouraged to get ITC memberships and would match a 'known lowest' kind of price to get it. For example, you want to pay 349 instead of 359 on the 44" box, they would probably do it if you get the ITC. That's not a great example but it illustrates the point.

The ITC coupons used to be if you had the code you could do it. Now the ITC coupons come up with a thing in their POS system that the employee has to scan the card to verify. They have the ability to bypass that and give you the discount anyway but some don't bother, don't know, don't whatever. Same as every once in a while you get 2 free things they let it slide.

Let's face it. We're talking big money and really important issues whenever HF comes up. If you put that much thought into it, just try it and see if it's for you. Or just go in there once every few months to stock up on stuff and ignore it. Or choose what's behind door #3.

If they offered it with 3 dollar standard shipping vs. the 6.50 or whatever, I'd get it.

Closest store is 1+ hour drive just to get there so unless it's large items (already larger shipping cost), I'd rather just bulk buy once or twice a year for the smaller stuff (drawer liner, flashlights, etc.).

Would love a local HF though :(
