Does anyone have any experience with this mobile base from Harbor Freight?https://www.harborfreight.com/300-lb-capacity-mobile-base-95288.html

I have a standard 2 car garage and space is tight so I want to throw a couple of tools onto these. After looking around I am doubting that I can even buy the casters and necessary hardware for much cheaper than in this kit...but if you guys have a source please share.

I have one with my radial arm saw on it and it works very well. With this one you have to manually screw down the feet to lock it in place when you get it where you want it. I'd like to have one that has the foot pedal you push down to lock it in place but they are more expensive.

But overall I've been pleased with the HF model.

Change out the swivel casters to 2" toe-lock locking casters...

Is the idea is get the casters completely off of the ground, and have the base rest on "feet" instead? My Ridgid r4512 table saw works that way...

Yes, unless you do like PugetDude suggested and replace the stock casters with locking casters. Good idea by-the-way.

I'm still waiting for HF to offer ANY caster on ANYTHING that doesn't need replaced with something that WORKS - I have nearly everything in my shop that didn't already COME with a mobile base on these

http://www.rockler.com/power-tool-mobile-base-hardware

They used to be available with or without the "pedal caster", now it looks like it's only available WITH - the 2 wheels are hard plastic, none have broken in the last 15 years and NO FLAT SPOTS. Instead of hardwood I use 1-1/2" square tubing for the runners. Hold up fine, even with my 400+ pound Powermatic cabinet saw - I also put one under a dead freezer; small light bulb in the bottom, makes a great dust/rust free storage cabinet for blades, fences, router bits, measurement tools, etc - I used wood runners on that one.

I've also had excellent luck with these, for places where DOUBLE-locking casters are needed
https://www.woodcraft.com/search?brand[]=WoodRiver&button=search&q=caster

Again, ZERO flat spots and positive locks both for rolling AND swivel. Not cheap, but IMO you really DO "get whatcha pay for"... Steve

That one is cheap enough but generally I just make my own
Most of my equipment is heavy so I need a heavy base and I have lots of casters I have collected over the years

No, don't have that one yet.

I have that one. Two of them, actually: my radial arm saw is on one and the other one is holding an old cabinet with a benchtop router table on it. They've held up great for me. Most of the time they're just sitting, but they move easily on the casters and don't budge when dropped down onto the feet. The RAS isn't light, but it's worked just fine.

The ones that has the foot pedal you push down to lock it in place, are 0K, But I'm always tripping over the darn thing.
The pedal that is.
I have the HF one, I like it better.
Boy, they went up.
when I brought mine, I think it was only abt. $20.00 with a coupon.
EDIT,
I have this type, maybe the one linked to by Rewind97 , I would not trip over as much.
