Any bad things about them? IE poor fit or breaking under normal use etc.
I've used the HF black impact sockets with rachets and they were fine.
The 12 point HF & Kobalt chrome sockets look a little thin. Experiances?
Forgot to add- for non commercial use.

I have only used 1 Kobalt socket, a 32mm 12pt that I used a 6 foot long cheater pipe on to break off 2 axle nuts. It took that and no damage to the nut.

They work great. I have both brands and they can take a beating. I use my hf sockets as impacts since i use mostly snap on and mac now.

they are both made in taiwan, so quality are pretty much equal. The kobalt looks nicer with the finish and banding for metric and sae. And you can get loose stock kobalt if you loose one. No luck with HF, they close out the loose sockets last year.

I picked up the Kobalt sets last month, and they've been great so far. Nice fit, great finish, and the red/blue banding makes keeping them organized much easier- especially since I'm putting a modern (metric) engine in a classic (SAE) car. Their packaged sets are a pretty good deal, but they're odd in that that sometimes skip a size in the middle of a particular set of sockets. Since they're available individually, it's not a big deal to fill in the gaps, though.

They had a great deal on their organizers last month too- they normally sell them for $9.99 each, so you'd drop $60 to get 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 in SAE and metric, but they had boxed sets that included all three sizes for only $9.99, so it was only $20 for all the organizers.
