Hmm, those handles look JUST LIKE Craftsman Pro plier's handles. Even the laser etching is the same style..

Sears and Channellocks are routinely cheap enough on sale that I would not buy those as an alternative to the mentioned brands made in this country. Where I will buy HF pliers are something like their extra long needlenose and hose pliers cause the only alternatives come from the trucks at great cost, are not usually found used and do not routinely see use by home shop guys like myself so it is either the HF brand or nothing!

That is usually my rule of thumb on most HF stuff.

Actually I already have quite a few cheap Chinese pliers...
Maybe I'll just get the craftsman pro pliers.

The set on the top left(#45128) for $35 are the original black handled Craftsman pro pliers. I have some of these that I have owned since around 1995. These are very nice pliers. I can tell from using the diagonal cutters that these pliers are made from much harder steel than the standard craftsman pliers and are not just dressed up with better handles. At least that is the case with the examples I own.

HF has variable quality. Pitt Pro is generally very high

First, they are Taiwanese. And despite the jingoism prevelent, Taiwans is one of the most advanced manufacturing nations on earth, whcih a very highly educated ( and rich) workforce.

That aside, all the higher end pittsburgh stuff I have bought int he last 5 years has been light years ahead of other HF tools. Solid, nicely finished, etc. Witness their torque wrenches and semi-polished ratchets - IMO superior to craftsman for <<1/2 price.

I have never seen nor used the pliers, I have all I need already.

btu I would guess they are high quality, though not a match for Klein, S-O, etc.
