Anyone bugged about that huge gap between the motor and the deck?

Im here installing it and was like wait a minute. Whats this massive gap that the previous motor didnt have when mated to the deck. There a few videos of people installing the Predator on a mower and running it, but no one has mentioned anything about the gap. It leaves me wondering if its fine or could it possibly be a safety problem with something shooting this gap.

It's pretty hard to answer or help without any details of the machine you're working on. lol. Maybe a few pictures?....

Here we go. Its a Harbor Freight mower motor. There have been a few threads here with other peeps having great luck with these motors. It was a direct bolt-on to my mower. I just find it odd the gap it has between motor and deck. No one on youtube have bothered to comment on this gap. I find it odd, but people mow just fine with it!

It's a safety issue. Honestly Joe Homeowner who does this swap on YouTube and anyone most anyone else really doesn't think about that like you did, or they don't care, but it is an issue. Bring that to a reputable repair shop sometime for anything and try will refuse to work on it, even something completely unrelated because of liability....if I don't repair that condition and make it safe legally I have condoned it being like that so when you eventually get injured ( or your kid playing in the yard 30 ft away) from a thrown item and sue I'm liable.
It's that design simply because the engine the China factory reverse engineered and copied happened to be that way.

You'd be amazed at the condition of some mowers people bring me to fix and get upset when we refuse to tune up because the deck has baseball size holes rusted through it.
