One of my kids bought me the 3/8 drive digital torque wrench for Father's Day a few years ago. When I pulled it out of the toolbox the other day the batteries fell out and the battery end cap is MIA. Is there some sort of hack to replace the battery end cap so that the wrench will function. It seems a shame to throw away a $160 wrench simply because the cap is not available to purchase. It's one of those twist end caps similar to a flash light. Maybe a little ground wire soldered to the tool and tape the batteries in place with the wire on the back of the battery negative?

You could cozy up to someone with a 3d printer and the necessary design skills to make one, or use tape as you suggested. Too bad the Gearwrench model they compare it to doesn't have the same style battery holder.

Yeah I contacted HF and they directed me to the parts website. If your sku number doesn't return results they cannot get parts.
