HF rapid pump aluminum floor jack rebuild question

My not so trusty HF floor jack started leaking like a sieve so I started to tear it down for a reseal. I replaced the o-ring in the main jack shaft no sweat but the pump bodies are a different story. The pump frame is Aluminum but the pump cylinders are iron. I’ve cranked on these with a big crescent and a cheater bar, heated the Aluminum etc, to no avail.

Is there some trick to getting these things out?

No I never could get those out. So I put new o rings in the lift ram and put it back together and it’s working fine, no leaks.

Hey Harris,

Did your jack had these type of bushings for the yoke handle screws? Not sure how to install them back on :s

No mine appears to be different. For the one that is stripped, try taking a punch, back the side of the frame with something heavy, and peen the edge of the hole slightly in 3 places around the hole to give insert some grip. Then clean insert and hole real good and use green locktite “sleeve and bearing mount” ( high strength, not the wimpy stuff) 640 I think, and tap the insert back in. Once set I doubt you will ever get it out again.
