Return Policy

If for any reason you are not satisfied with any item purchased, you may return the insured product within 90 days for a full refund or replacement, whichever you prefer. Shipping and handling are non-refundable.

I opened and used the item. They'll take it back?

I bought this floor jack a few weeks back and finally got around to using it over the weekend. Found it was **** and bought a new one at Costco yesterday. I had already accepted the fact that I was going to have to eat the cost of the HF jack. But today I checked the return policy and it sounds like I would be able to return it.

I have the box still.

Yup. Tell them it sucked and you bought something else. They'll put it back on the shelf anyways.

Return at will.

I thought return policy was 30 days, but as long as you have your receipt, you are good to go.

And BTW, I;ve never liked nor ever will use again the Aluminum HF jacks unless on ultra lightweight racecars.

I;ve seen them rack and twist like a pretzle.

They have 2 different time frames listed on their website. I'm still under 30 days so I'll be fine either way.

I've never flat-out returned something, but I've exchanged a number of things - broken for a new one. Funniest one was a fuel pressure tester that leaked. Bought it, went home, tried to use it, leaked like a sieve, boxed it up, took it back. Said "I want to exchange this" "What's wrong with it?" "Can't you smell? It leaks" There was fuel all over it. Stank horribly of gas. Second one worked ok.

I keep a big stack of HF receipts, especially for the sake of the hand tools that I've bought there, since you need the receipt for the lifetime warranty of hand tools. I never have an issue returning things there. I've returned things to get my money back simply because I didn't like it as much as I thought I would, even if there was technically nothing wrong with it.

I had the same issue with the fuel pressure tester, but teflon tape solved it with no further issue.

Funny, I've had better luck exchanging hand tools without a receipt than with.
But in general, I've had good luck with HF returns. It all depends on who is at the counter, and how nice and patient you can be.

I've returned stuff and straight up said, "its a piece of junk". Most of the employees have seen enough returns, they understand. :bounce:

As long as its not clearly abused, I doubt they will even bat an eye.

If you have a cheap copy machine at home, make copies of all your receipts. The ink will disolve into the paper over time and you will be without a receipt.

Some stores will do that for their customers becuase their distric manager will allow it. We will not take anything back without a receipt unless the store manager is working.

If they say no, start swingin!!!

I always thought it was 30 days. Darn. Coulda woulda returned a few other things. Oh well.

I've made it a rule to myself that anything I buy from HF I will buy the day or days before needing to use it. So if it's junk, it'll get returned under policy. None of this 'ill need it someday' sentiment I have with other brands.

OP's HF quote says "you may return the INSURED item".

I think thats if you buy the HF extended warranty.

Pretty sure they are talking about shipping insurance, and the receipt doesn't say that anyways. After the 90 days is up you would need the extended warranty for a return/warranty.

I finally returned the jack last week as it was nearing the 90 days. I had a day or two left. They didn't hassle me about it and didn't even ask why. The jack was bulging out of the box and they didn't even open it. Maybe it was because I didn't look shifty like rest of the customers there at the time

So they lived up to their word.
return it to any Harbor Freight store for an exchange or refund within 90 days of your purchase! Just bring the item and a copy of the order invoice and we will gladly exchange or refund the purchase, no questions asked.
