I've got a Gearwrench 3/8 & 1/4 right now. I can't find that Gearwrench makes one in 1/2. HF carries some. Made in Taiwan. Anyone else have a suggestion? How are the HF ones?

Nicer than the HF and you can disassemble to lube (unlike the HF)
COO: Taiwan

Wera? No experience with any of the ratchets other than the set of Cornwells(bought used, lucked out).

My gear wrench 3/8 roto I've had to warranty twice due to it locking up. My third one is still a little notchy going one direction

My hf 1/2 roto is absolutely smooth either direction and always has been. And the quick release also works really good

I have the HF roto ratchets (1/4" and 3/8"). They're OK, but not Gearwrench quality. One nice feature is that they are quick release types (I like those for tight spots where loosing a socket would ****). They were cheap enough (used a 20% off coupon) and I use them at home only (I have Snap On at work).

I haven't used the Genius rotator ratchet, but it appears very similar to the HF ratchet. Even the reverse levers look very similar. There are some minor design differences on the handle near the grip, though.

I have owned other Genius ratchets and I did like them OK.

I have the 3/8" drive HF roto ratchet. It's not quite as nice as the GearWrench models, but it is quite good. I like it, especially when you consider the price.

The 1/2" drive HF ratchet is on sale for $18.99 right now. After a 20% off coupon that's just over $15 + tax.
