HF Series 3, 42" Drawer Mod Question(s)

Anyone know if its possible to switch the top 2 drawers? Has anybody done it? I would like to have the thinner drawer on top if possible which would work better for my purposes.

I have to imagine that's not possible without moving the rails/slides. I just don't see how they would line up.

But it will be interesting to see if anyone has done it or knows more.

You stand better chance by making couple drawers out of wood and put in wood dividers to mount full length drawer slides.
Or how bought dividing the two existing drawers with drawer divider trays

Not sure with the Generals, but I was able to swap 3 different drawer sizes around on my Menards cabinets, they all fit factory perfect.

Pull the drawers out and and measure the distance between the slides. The one thing that may not work is the drawer latch. I swapped the drawers on my 56", but not the top ones.

Based on this picture off the HF website the spacing of the tracks look off.

Can confirm that the spacing is not correct to swap the drawers.

Thanks, yes, I can see that clearly. Looks like there's no additional predrilled holes in the cabinet to do it and would require removal and drilling new holes to do so.

It can be done but no holes for the drawer latches.

Watched a toolbox tour and apparently the Icon boxes can adjust slides and drawer arrangements. Didn't look into it, but might be an option.

Yes, anything is possible.
I moved 2 drawers in the lower part of my USG Series 3 56in. Straight forward, nope... but it is possible.
All my drawers lock and grip latch works on One of the 2 that were moved. I didn't feel like drilling a Square hole for the grip latch on the other as it just has screwdrivers in it. Not much weight and won't open on its own.
