HF slide hammer mods

A few days ago there was a thread concerning the hf slide hammer.

I broke the axle shaft puller attachment and repaired it so it wouldn't break and was asked to share some pics of the mods so here goes. Hopefully you all will find some uses in what I did and give some ideas on mods you may want to fab.

The threaded shaft size on the hf slide hammer is 16mm fine. I was able to find some nuts this size at an Ace hardware store.

I used some plate steel on one side of the attachment and a large washer on the other side.

heres another axle shaft attachment I fabbed

The one that comes with the kit will fit a 5x4.5 bolt pattern. This fits mopar built cherokkees and wranglersw with dada 44 rears. No need to worry about the dana 35 and chrysler 8.25--they fall out all buy themselves quite often when you don't want them to

This attachment fits Fords and Jeep CJ with a 5 x 5.5 bolt pattern and some dodges that had that bolt pattern.

Heres an adapter I fabbed so I could use a sae threaded spindle puller. The spindle puller is 5/8 fine thread and the hammer shaft is 16mm fine thread. The peice of pipe is a coupling from lowes.

Yea they ****, but that's not the point. The attachments work fine. Stick welded as the mig gun had 023 wire in it at the time

Best fix is to get a real slide hammer!
