If you do the math on spring rates, you will see for a given wire diameter and coil diameter, springs WILL get stiffer or gain more rate with a shorter free height. Less active coils means each one has to be compressed harder to achieve travel. Can just cut coils but that isn't reversible and you lose ride height.

No I would not use them, definitely not for the above mentioned purposes, but some might use them in econo/stock type racing classes that require a stock spring. Or for testing purposes to see if that lowering kit will clear/how stiffer springs would handle-ride.

Those are the OLD way of raising or lowering a car or truck with coil springs for those that were to cheap to do it right with new springs or spindles.

Those might come in handy for a lot of things.

But I wouldn't use them on automotive coil springs.

They have been around forever ,same as the twist in coil spacers . you can get it in the junk aisle of Vatozone and advance. the reviews on HF crack me up.

those are great, thanks for finding them for me....
that will save me a TON of money I thought I was going to have to spend
on those springs I need for my race car

does adding these mean that I will have 'variable rate springs'?

DO NOT USE THE HARDWARE THAT COMES IN THE KIT. IT IS JUNK. Replace the bolts and nuts with grade 8 hardware. You will thank yourself later.

Those same items have been avaliable at every auto parts store since the 1950's. Nothing new or dangerous here.

Those look more secure than these old things

I used to find these on the side of the road all the time in the early 80's when it was still considered "cool" to have the rear of your Nova jacked up.
