Just stopped into local HF store to pick up the $69.99 inspection camera. Tried to use 20% coupon and was refused. Tried the coupon on the website and also would not take it. Store employee said that the coupon could not be used on this sale???? What gives with HF? So, I am planning to order the inspection camera with the 8.5mm head off of Amazon for about $20.00 more. I think they did me a favor today!

I was considering the $70 HF Camera, but decided on the Costco's Whistler for $150. Smaller camera head (same size as the $200 sale HF one) plus it includes a 3' extension. Seems to work very nice, and was rather glad HF wasn't accepting coupons on it as I may have purchased it just because of the price...

Do you have a link to that camera?

My local harbor freight never accepts 20% off coupons on any sale items, and they strategically keep some items always on sale so you cant use the coupon

I guess the Horrible Freight I visit sometimes is a bunch of renegades and do whatever they please.... about 1 month ago, I bought the more expensive borescope that was on sale for $199 and used the 20% coupon to reduce the price even further.

No questions were asked; they like to make sells.....

According to the ad in the last Circle Track magazine the 20% coupon can be used on ANY item. I was suprised to see that after hearing some of the issues on GJ.

I will look for it when I get home to be sure.

My local HF takes the 20% coupons on just about anything. Hell it even says on the coupon that you cannot use them on toolboxes but they let me use it on the tall black one while it was on sale. I got it for $149-20%off.

Most of the time they even give the coupon back so you can use it again! Last time I was there a customer was standing near the registers handing out 20% off and free item coupons out of a bag to everyone and they did not care at all!

They even told me this weekend they couldn't take the coupon without actually having my inside track card with me. Never had that happen before.

When I bought my camera, I asked about using the coupon and was told that it's not on sale items...which my coupon did disclaim.

That being said...at least in my case the item was on sale at nearly 50% off. Trying to reasonable..how much more should one expect them to discount an item already discounted that much? I would have liked the extra 20%...but I think it's almost unreasonable to expect them to take that much more off. And...give you the freebie too?

Perhaps they've done it in the past...but I understand why they don't allow the coupons on sale items.

My local HF sometimes tries to bargain. Recently, I purchased a few sale items and tried using the 20% coupons. The cashier said I couldn't but that he would let me if I got all the extended warranties. I said no. He responded that he would do it if I purchased just one extended warranty. I again said no. So then he said, ok, I will do it anyway. :)

The camera was on sale for $69 already. I stopped in and bought one at that price, but didn't have any additional coupons.

After considering a number of cameras since my HF trip, I have decided that you just cannot beat the Whistler at Costco for $149.00. That will be one of my missions for tomorrow.

Guess im just getting the short end of the stick, when I forgot to bring a 20% coupon I asked the cashier if I really needed it and if he would just give it to me anyways, he said no and made me pay full price (unfortunately I have to drive 25 min to get there so it not worth the trek back to get a coupon)
