Just got a HF catalog.

Been hoping for the toolbox side box (drawers) would be on sale

Normal price is $199 it’s been on sale for $169 last year sometime.

This catalog has it listed for $219 !

Website and store still has it for $199

Anyone have any info?

Thx

Custom colors and theyre 4" deeper... 4" deeper on the entire box is A LOT of extra storage hence the price increase.

in relation to the sidebox it also about 4" narrower so nothing gained besides mark up ...

I should have specified we're talking about the Series 2 here.

They are the same depth as the boxes.

I believe all Series 2 boxes are 22" deep.

The side drawer cabinet is also 22" deep

it has been $199.99 forever, I found a long expired coupon where it was $169.99 but have not seen one recently.

Catalog came in the mail yesterday and the same cabinet 64449/64450 was $219

I'm going to pick one up today, so good news for everyone else, once I buy it there will be a coupon within days.

That’s what kept me from being interested in the series 2. They completely ruined the side cabinet.

The 44 with the side cabinet has the best drawer combination in my opinion. At least out of what is available at HF.

The idea is to raise the price on imports so its less of a jump in price to just buy american. Probably not going to work on tool boxes as well, but a couple years ago they did the same thing on heavy truck tires. Everyone was buying cheap china tires because they were $200 bucks a piece vs quality tires at $300ish, once they put the tariff's in and those china tires were 260 or 280, people started buying nice tires and were getting far better life out of them as well...

As a consumer I do not appreciate being fucked by tariffs. This American worker isn’t too happy about having to pay more money for tools that earn the paycheck.

On the flip side, it would be good for the workers in manufacturing. Not sure how it would play out for service workers like mechanics & building maintenance.

I’ve amassed a collection of tools over the years and now I don’t really need any more tools but when I do, it wouldn’t be big $ purchases anyway.

Prices would probably go up slightly just for operating costs but, the new 25% tariffs take affect 6/1/19 so, you might want to buy the stuff you want now because, it's not going to get any cheaper. :wtf:

That's funny, because tariffs are always touted by those implementing them as hitting back at the country being charged. I don't think any politician ever has admitted tariffs are meant to increase consumer prices to even the playing field.

In reality that's what happens, but I'm not sure I agree 'that's the idea' of them. Or at least the idea that is given to the general public.
