HF toolbox latches

I bought a 54" roll cab, top box and side cabinet last winter. Last night I went to open a drawer and the latch broke. I called HF and got part numbers but they are out of stock. Has anyone here had issues and solved it in another fashion(machined from aluminum, 3D printer, duct tape)?

I have the opposite issue. Specifically, starting with their gen2 toolboxes, they put in stupid plastic latches on every drawer. On gen2, its like 2" long over on the far right. very annoying. I bypassed them by cutting up blocks from a scrap board and wedging them all permanently unlatched.

Supposedly the changes for gen3 include making those latches the full width of the drawer as least, instead of a small piece on the far right.
