Can the struts (I'm assuming it's the struts that are causing this) on the top chest be adjusted so that the top lid will sit closed all the way? I've already removed the three pins that attach the lid to the locking mechanism bars so that the locks are not engaged when the lid is down, but most of the time I'm not going to be using the tools in the top, so would rather have the lid fully closed.

Have you tried disconnecting the struts and see if the lid closes correctly? The lid itself may be sprung out of shape.

Yes. With the struts disconnected (even just one) the lid sits perfectly flat. I suppose the struts are just too powerful. :dunno: I could just leave connected, which I may end up doing, but I don't want to end up tweaking the top from one end being supported while the other is not.
