I have it, don't use it and don't really like it at all.

It's well built, but uses the old-school blueish LEDs and casts that blueish light in a very narrow beam.

Battery life is not that great and it cannot be use while charging. It has the potential to be a great product, but not yet.

fail IMO.

Really not that great for area brightness when you consider some other options. I agree though seemingly well built, it's potential is poorly executed by HF. I have had my hands on two of them and it does garner a lot interest at my weekend tool tent (but most of them think its too much money  )

Try it if you want.

At some point I'll fork over for the cordless M12 Milwaukee for myself

I have one, got it on sale fairly cheap. I do use it and it does help, BUT don't expect it to put off as much light as the ones that cost a few times as much. I'd say it was worth what I paid because I went in to it with realistic expectations.

The problem with the HF light is that it only puts out a very narrow strip of bright light. The rest is just light that spills over. It's not really a flood light. Think of it like this, compare an old hand held flashlight that gives you one bright spot, and the remaining area dims out fairly quickly - now compare that to a new led flood light that gives a bright, even, wide area of light without any bright spots. that's really what it's like.

The Neiko uses better LED's, and has a much larger battery. The HF is obviously better than nothing at all, but for a little more money you can find much better. It's up to you to decide if it's worth it.

The Neiko is a good compromise between the best available, and the worst you can buy. That HF light is sold all over eBay for the same price as the Neiko. I have both. There is no real comparison.

The HF underhood is garbage. Save your money and buy a better light.

If you need something cordless, then buy an ATD, Astro, or wait for the Milwaukee light.

I'd agree.

For the $35 - PERSONALLY - I think the small Neiko is a much better investment., it's my favorite light to use on the car,, very bright, very versatile, worth every penny.
