It's the same build quality as the (highly praised) toolbox it's built for. I don't have the measurement.

I have one hanging on my Snap On box. Even painted it green to match. Snap on wants $2000 for one, so I bought the harbor freight locker. I holds stuff fine. Theres a couple of shelves and a couple of drawers. The drawers are surprisingly smooth, although the entire locker isn't perfectly square, the drawers aren't welded square, the powdercoat had an inconsistent finish and was cheap, the welds are poor.
I'm comparing it to the Snap On equivilent. For the price and what it is, its fine. The door doesn't stay closed without locking. I took the spring out of the lock so the key stays in it when I'm working - I can easily flip the key to lock it.

Buy a name brand box used. That's what I did. I couldn't bring myself to hang Harbor fright lockers onto my Snappy box. Sacrilege!

I have the HF TOP and Bottom and the side locker. I didnt really judge the locker quality, cause it is essentially the same quality as the boxes. I installed a magnetic cabinet latch on mine to keep the door closed. It has hooks on both sides and bolt holes. can be mounted on the right or left. I put my on the left, but had to flip the door. NBD. Its not exactly the same height with the top box closed. but it works for me. HF has changed the paint on the newer boxes, but i dont know about the side lockers.

Here is a couple pics.

What model snap on box did you put it on and did you have to do any mods to make it look rite? Maybe a pic if its not too much trouble. Im intrested in doing this to my krl722. Thanks.

I was at HF today and I was amazed at the quality of the boxes and lockers. Wow, really hard to say no at those prices. Couldn't the nameplates be removed if it bothers anyone that much?

I have a classic78 in extreme green with a riser. I looked for a fairly priced locker, KRA or KRL, but finding one in green within 500 miles from me for over a year has been unsuccessful.
I hung it on the left side, flipped the door around, took the spring out of the lock. I wanted the bottom of the box to be flush with the bottom of the locker, so drilled out the spot welds on the plate that it hangs from and moved it an inch or so and used plug welds in the new location. I can get a pic tomorrow, the only bummer is that isn't very deep. I use it for storage of paint products and use the drawers to store things that I don't want getting dusty (metalwork, bodywork or paintwork everyday... among other things).

I hear you. It is blasphemy, but couldn't find a green locker in over a year of looking. Got tired of waiting, so HF it was. No ******* way I'll spend 2500 for a locker, although I wish I could. A matching extreme green top box, however....:rocker:

It is a proven fact that your tools feel less loved in a lower end box thus performs at a lower standard.

I read it on the internet.

I had one and I used it a lot even put a lot of stuffs inside.. I like it but I had to took it to home and use it for my personal things to lock in. And other reason is I has harbor freight 56" box at work and I can't have locker because of it will take more wider to close the alley for techs to walk through..

It is good locker for that price...

Ah that's why. Red, blue, and black are the most common colors you will find on the used market. Oddball colors like green you will very very RARELY find on craigslist.

yes you can remove the badges. if so inclined, you can add a vintage snap-on badge like I did with auto body trim tape.

I have two of them. Painted to match my Snap On box. I love them. For 200 vs 2000 it is a no brainer. I store boxed tools in them and I use one for my laptop and such. Great value and they hold up well. My Snap On man who is a great friend as well even gave me badges to put on them lol. He told me he couldn't blame me at all for getting them vs his. Been a great addition to my main box.

I do not have the locker, just the HF side cabinet on my KRL. I was all too happy to not paint it so it sticks out, I find the irony amusing.

but as noted above tools that I keep in the side cab just don't work as well. Sometimes they fall into pieces just sitting in the drawers. It's the strangest thing..... :D

Remove the Snapon badges so the locker does not feel bad... that should fix it. :bounce:

I really don't get the putting SO stickers on stuff to make someone feel better about their lowly HF purchase. Be proud.

that's not why I did it, I stole that badge off the tool box in auto shop in high school and it's been sitting around forever. just wanted some way to display it and thought it would be funny when my snooty tool snob BIL comes over...same as changing emblems on a car. my chevette had a 350 SS emblem on it...:bounce:
