So about 10 days ago I bought a black 34”full bank service cart from my local HF, I asked when it would arrive and they told me 2 weeks, typically less then that. Now I called to see if it had possibly arrived and now they’re telling me it’s 4 months back ordered. Have any of you dealt with that with HF? Is 4 months the typical lead times?

4 months tells me that they are waiting for their supplier to make more and then they will be put on a boat, which can take a couple months to get stateside and then more time to get to you via truck.

Have you checked other stores locally to see if anyone has one?

Or the boat is still idling outside a harbor waiting to be unloaded.

I bought a tool box from HF, they told me 4 weeks or so. They then called me a week later for pick up... They said they recieved 50 boxes. It was during the previous sales events this year. Maybe just order one a week or a few weeks before a holiday next time.

Did you see if there was availability in a different color?

They told me 2-3 weeks a few months ago, and it came in a little over a week.

"The new normal" - best to get used to it, to whatever extent you're capable of doing so. I'm noticing a trend of "CYA" hyperbolically long lead time estimates, because the real lead time is "we have no F'n clue." I order routinely electronic devices in my line of work and many of them are niche items for which there is no readily available alternative, so I (my employer rather) have to just "**** it up" and wait. Last month I ordered a batch of railroad RFID scanners and was quoted a lead time of 6 months. I ended up receiving them in 5 weeks. I ordered a batch of made-to-order touchscreen PanelPCs and was quoted 11 month lead time; I received those in 5 weeks as well.

I'm not saying "go ahead and place your order, you'll get it sooner than promised." I'm saying, if you have no other options, don't despair, there's a good chance it won't be as bad as forecasted. But, if you do have alternatives that are in stock, go for those.

I’ve been waiting two months for some Wera drivers, six months for a chair and ottoman, and just shy of three months for a Wright ratchet. If it isn’t in stock today, I’d plan on waiting for anything for a long while. ***** but it is what it is.

If you aren’t picky with colors, I’ve noticed all the stores around me have lots of white, yellow, and orange carts and yellow and orange boxes (at least the 26” and 44” bottoms).

Ordered a SS top, hutch and side locker Presidents Day. Was told I would have it by the end Of April, however all 3 items were delivered today, so about 5 weeks.

The last few HF items came in earlier than expected, I'm also not in a rush for this stuff so a couple weeks either way is no big deal. It's nice to sort of forget about an order than get the call, it's a nice surprise.
