My 4 sons all pitched in and bought me one of those big Harbor Freight Vulcan welding cabinets for my birthday. Overall I really like it but there's a couple things I did to it that made it fit my needs a little better.

First, I had a smaller 40 cu foot argon/c02 bottle for my MIG and the height put the regulator down below the top of the cabinet. I found that a Kidde 292474 extinguisher bracket fit the bottle perfect:

So I drilled the end of the cab and installed four 1/4-20 Riv-nuts and mounted the bracket about 12" above the bottle shelf. Works great, the end of the cab flexes out a little from the weight, but the bottle chain pulls the top of the bottle in so its pretty solid.

Next I wanted a way to secure my welders and plasma cutter so they wouldn't shift or accidentally fall over while moving the cart. I picked up some 1.5"x60" Velcro straps and some 1.5" steel eyelets off Amazon and used 10-24 riv-nuts to mount the eyelets to the top of Cab:

I then cut some HF floor cushion tiles to fit around the eyelets and provide a rubber surface. I strapped everything down and the Cab holds my Miller 180 MIG, Hypertherm 600 Plasma, and Everlast 250DX TIG nicely.

Overall I like it , my only complaint is that I wish the whole layout was reversed so that my MIG could sit on the end and I could access the spool door without having to remove it from the cart. Maybe a project for another day, but It works great for now.

Happy Birthday and congrats on the new cart. Pretty sweet your boys chipped in to get it for you.

The smaller bottle bracket looks great, like that's what is was meant for.
