Whats the expression ? Snooze you lose ? LOL

I was waiting until I had a little more floorspace in my garage which is slowly coming up to buy one of the HF Yukon rolling cabinets with the single drawer and the two cabinet doors below. Figured the drawer would be big enough to keep my cordless tools in and I could keep all the tools in cases below.
Yesterday my buddy sends me a few pictures from the local HD showing rolling cabinets that they had on sale. I tried to send him a few of the Yukon and theyre GONE. Page cant be shown. Im assuming HF dropped the product. I might stop at the closest one today to see what the heck happened. Guess its just like the end lockers. SMH

When Yukon first came out I remember thinking the comparable HUSKY stuff was a good bit better.

Not sure if Yukon has been upgraded or changed since then though.

The yukon stuff felt like garbage compared to the US General stuff, IMO. If its truely gone its probably not much of a loss.
Good luck on your search.

Yup even at the lowly non professional homeowner level for this style of cabinet or even the other model with drawers, HD beats HF.

The issue for me is HD doesnt have anything like this. I have 35 drawers in my main box with the side cabinets. I need something with shelves. For the money I think this will have just what I need which is storage space for a bunch of blow mold cases and a drawer deep enough to hold 8 or 9 cordless tools and a few extra batteries. The cases are too big for my wall cabinets.
Yukon stuff might be cheap but I havent found anything similar for under $400.

All yukons show up for me

At one point the Yukon was better than Home depots. There are youtube videos on this. But in the last 4 years Home depot has updated their lineup and fixed all the "problems"

Yes US general are better, but more expensive.

I agree with the others who have said the Yukon stuff seemed to be about the same as what was in the home improvement stores.

If you don't see it online, I'd call your local stores and ask - possible (though unlikely) they have a floor model/etc. to sell.

Really strange. For two days every time I tried to look at those it came up as "page not found" on every color. Just for the one with the cabinet doors.
Yesterday I went to the local store. They had a single black one in stock. The manager told me that when an item comes up like that on their website it usually means its been discontinued. He was actually surprised because it was a strong selling product.
He checked stock in the main warehouse and theres over 1600 red boxes in stock. He also checked other local stores. Theres a red box at the store 35 minutes away. Probably going today to pick it up.

Mikester This is where I'm at, I have about 20 feet of workbench height Lista cabinets, the single drawer Yukon cabinet gave me an excellent place to neatly store my jack stands and transjack, out of site and easy to access. I used the single drawer for space for my assortment of rolls of wire, and other automotive electrical accessories.

Just a followup for anyone interested.
This past Sunday I recieved an email coupon from HF for 25% off any single purchase. At that point I decided to pick up the Yukon box. Didnt think I could go wrong for $261.
The local store had a red one in stock. Brought it home and threw the casters on. To be honest I was surprised at the finish. Drawer opens and closes nice and smooth. It was perfect for what I needed. All the cordless tools fit in the drawer. The bottom cabinets had enough room for all the cased tools that were piled on the side boxes of my main box. Home run right ?
Well, not quite. I close the door of the right side and the door on the left side popped open. Went to close it and the door wouldnt stay shut. After looking at the latch they use I was kinda shocked. Its a V shaped piece of steel thats held in by a spring. I took it apart, rebent the ends of the spring and put it back together. Didnt matter. Close the door and the piece of steel slips past the edge of the door and the latch wont work. Like I said, kinda shocked. The shelves are heavy, the cabinet itself is very nicely finished. Even the wood top looks fine. Why they put such a cheesy setup for the latch has me stumped. It cant be that much of a cost savings.
Needless to say I was back in the store the next day. They took it back with no problem. I went to 3 stores originally looking for one of these in red and all the latches on the boxes I saw worked fine. Figures the one I buy had a problem. The manager apologized and gave me the option of a full refund or a replacement. Maybe Im going to regret it but I had him order another one. We'll see how this one turns out.

You should see some of the stuff they're doing with the Craftsman boxes.

USG is a big step up from Yukon and most of the Home Box store stuff.

Believe me, I looked at a ton of boxes before I bought this. My main box with the two side cabinets has 36 drawers, Some cased stuff but mostly loose tools. I needed something with cabinet space and not more drawers. This Yukon box seemed to be a decent choice. Plenty of room for the cases in the bottom and the drawer was just the right size for my small collection of cordless tools and the extra batteries I have. Husky, Craftsman, Kobalt, nothing in the local big box stores had the cabinet space. Honestly, this isnt that bad except for the poorly designed cheapo latches.
Every time I go into the local HF I look at the USG boxes. The 56" or 72" would be perfect for everything I own. Im sure the 72" would even have space for everything thats going into the Yukon box. I could picture having a nice new blue set in my garage. LOL
I just cant bring myself to get rid of the box I have now. My wife bought it for me and surprised me with it one night when I got home from work. Opened the garage and it was there with a big bow on it.
My buddy just bought a new 52" Craftsman combo last year. I told him to buy a USG. Now hes pissed because Craftsman discontinued side boxes and hes outgrown his already.

Seville (carried at Sam's) makes a similar-ish cabinet. I have the 6-drawer cabinet, purchased many years ago, as well as a couple of the rolling storage cabinets and a couple of the wall-mounted cabinets. Honestly not a big fan of the 6-drawer for the $$, but have been very happy with the rolling and wall cabinets (the rolling cabinets were $199 when I bought them). Their adjustable workbench tables are great.

Anyway, the big workbench cabinet there is a bit of a question mark for me. The weak spot is the drawer slides just aren't very nice. After a very-tedious session putting it together it will work fine, but at $500 I doubt you'll ever look at it as something you're truly happy to have spent the money on. It's probably better than the Yukon in terms of build (since you'll build most of it and it's stainless or powder-coat throughout), but not USG-or-better in terms of hardware and beefiness. My 6-drawer got relegated to being the "family tools" repository by the door into the house, and when I occasionally go into it I'm always glad I replaced it with the USG 26"
