hey guys, so i'm really thinking I want to pick up this new box HF is slingin'. nice big drawers, black to match my other junk, i can set my little 26" box on top and have a little bit of space for other things. with a 25% off coupon the thing is 225+ tax, not a bad price at all.

I wanted a big red box but I think this will take care of my storage needs for now.

Unless you have a Yukon specific coupon I don't think you can use the 25% off on Tool Carts. At least in the past that was the case.

I think it's a good light duty box, it is lighter than the red 44" by 70 lbs. That includes the wood top. I can see it for a weekend warrior , but not much abuse. Also , check your coupon , they can't be used on tool chests normally.

bummer that I can't use a coupon but I think it would be perfect for my little operation. I outgrew my 26" box a long time ago so I have tools scattered all around the shop in cabinets.

I got my Husky version of this box shortly after black Friday last year. It's built much more similarly to the Yukon in the review. Double slides on the bottom drawers, full paint inside, not sure on the rivnuts vs spot welding...

My only complaint on the Husky is a little more lateral play than I'd like on the full width drawer. I've got quite a bit of weight in it though. If you plan to put your sockets and ratchets in the top drawer of the Yukon, I'd load it up with socket sets while you're in the store, and see how it opens and closes.

Just saw one at HF today, $180, somebody returned it because the keys didn't match the lock. Almost bought it but don't have the room.

It’s very similar to the Husky, not as heavy duty as the US General boxes so many like. Unless you just really like buying HF brands, save a few bones and get the HD version. Preferably the blacked out one.

the new HD version is not what is pictured from what i have seen. I think the HD website is out of date.. its definitely better quality IMO. rivnuts and good hardware everywhere, thick metal, smooth slides etc.

The paint finish isn't perfect but thats really the only flaw i've seen.

I installed these about a year ago, work great.

They are bolted together and mounted on a fixed base of 3/4" MDO. I also extended the depth 6" with a piece of poplar.

That's pretty tidy - good work!

I have two 44” husky’s and their pretty decent, double slides on the two bottom drawer, the big top one should have been a little deeper with double slides, oh well. I am using them for wood working tools so weight really isn’t an issue. I used two small 26” cabinets to make a rolling bench, they are junk the steel has to be 20 ga it lighter kinda like duct work. One thing i did notice before i had heat and ac the drawer bottoms are starting to rust, very thin coating not happy with that, my 35yo cm boxes held up better and i have plywood on the bottom not in direct contact with concrete.
