I have here a vintage (I don't know what year) Stanley Mitre Box complete with the original mitre saw.
I'm wondering if any of you guys have perhaps come across one.
I bought it at a garage sale some 30 years ago and not ever used it although it seems to be in good working order, or will be after giving it some TLC.
I would like, if possible, to obtain some sort of handbook or instruction manual.
It has the original makers plate attached and reads as follows:
Stanley Mitre Box
No. 246 Frame No. 2
Back Saw 26x4 in.
The Stanley Rule & Level Plant
New Britain. Conn. Made in U.S.A.
The first photo shows a tapered hole with the cast in letter F on the face of the casting.
Is there something missing that fits into this tapered hole or is there some other purpose for it.
Your input will be highly appreciated.
