First off let me say their are some sick garages here, they all make me seriously jealous and mak eme wish I wasnt so poor.
Anyhow I have the basic 1.5 car garage attached to a standard single family home, the ceiling is only about 7.5' at its lowest point (garage door opener). Anyhow I gave always had the dream of buying a lift, and given the fact that I bought my house 2 years ago at the worst possible time I will never be able to move and I am stuck in my house forever. So basically I am looking for ideas on how I could reach my goal(putting in a lift) I have a couple ideas and not sure how feasible they are and how much they will cost.
1) Raise the roof, I have a standard truss roof but I am afraid that is practically impossible
2) Build an addition on the back of my garage, basically another 20x20 or somthing behind it with a 12ft roof or so.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Here is a front picture of my house
Here is what I was kind of thinking (Red is the planned addition)
Obviously the biggest problem I see is water drainage, it would come a roof that was higher and pitching or higher in general.
Any contractors here care to take a stab at what something like that would cost?
Thanks
Rich
