Hi, I'm Rick and just joined this forum. I live northwest of Houston near a town called Tomball. I work in the technology industry, am married and have 3 kids that are grown and on their own now.
My shop was built about 10 years ago and is 38' x 40'. I pretty much live in it every weekend. It has been used heavily. Aside from a lot of small projects, I spent about 7 years of weekends restoring my 1978 GMC K15 pickup truck in it.
It has been bare stud through all that time. The left side I try to keep mostly open as a garage. The right side was supposed to be the main workshop and be set up for woodworking. Turns out, it has a bit of room for working and the rest is storage for tools, dollies, parts and supplies from the truck build. Upstairs I have a loft about 600 sq. ft for more storage. I've got a full bath with a shower stall (wife's idea) that doubles as a closet to store fishing gear. My shop also doubles as my outdoor kitchen.
My goal is to finish out the interior, adding tons of storage so I can get all my junk organized. I want brighter walls and ceilings so that the light can do some good before I start my next automotive project. And I want to start setting up the woodshop side as a woodshop like I'd intended. Looking forward to going through threads on this forum for ideas.
Everybody likes pictures. I'll have to get some pictures that feature my shop, but for now a few I stole from my truck build thread. Edit: Guess I'm going to have to also figure out how to get pictures rather than thumbnails attached.
