Hi guys

My name is Jerry and i´m from Bavaria.
My dad is from Nashville but i was born here in germany.
That was 35 years ago and finally this week i will buy
a shop where i can store and restore my Mustangs.
It´s 10x12Meters and has a basement the same size.
I will convert half of it into a home for me and my small
family (girlfriend and our 1,5 year old son)

I was hoping to get some good ideas of how a nice shop
could look like. I like the late style with neon lights and adds
on the walls.

I allready own a nice big Snap-On Tool Box to start out with.
My 65 Shelby R Model i´m building for 6 years now will do the rest.
I was also thinking if there is anybody who hast the car parked in the
living room? :headscrat That is what my dream would be the car sitting
right next to my couch.

Hope you guys can help
Thanks Jerry

Welcome to GJ, GT. Congrats on the new shop.

It all depends on what you refer to parking a car in the Living Room. Most of us have moved our 'Living Room' to the garage so we can have cars, tools and cold drinks near by.

You will have to post some pix of your Stangs.

Hi Jeff

That is a point but unfortunetly there is also some dirty work
to do on some cars and it would break my heart when a nice
clean shop will be full of dirt and dust after that. So kinda hard
decision.
Here are my cars hope they open up and a picture of our kitchen

Where did you get your front fenders on the fastback? Reason I ask is because the thin repops sag from metal fatigue from the vibration of the engine. It would be a shame to spend a ton of time shiming and aligning only to have it droop in a year or so.

Hi guys

To the fenders:
They are repro the original ones i could not save.
They are not so bad actually after we flared the lip on the
wheel wells that area became kinda stiff. We reradiused
the wheel wells to get clearance for my AVON CR6ZZ 225/70-15
wich look just like the Good Year Blue Streak back then only difference
the AVONs are street legal in germany. If you are interested in the
project go to: www.gt350r.de After you´ve registered, the pictures
will get bigger.

About the kitchen,...thanks man! It´s a simple to explain to a critic
wife.
A regular kitchen costs about 14000$ here in germany.
The boxes were 6000$ plus the wood i needed (+400$)
So if we move out the apartment all we need to buy again for
the next apartment is the wood for 400$ to fit the kitchen again.
A regular kitchen is almost impossible to put elsewhere.
Try it! :bounce:

Bye Jerry

Welkommen Jerry!

In regard to your shop plans, how high is the ceiling? Would it be tall enough to build a loft style living room with floor to ceiling glass looking down on the Mustangs?

If you like the look of neon, perhaps you would Google images of downtown Nashville as a homage to your father's roots.

Hey guys thanks so much for this feedback.
Well to the ceiling hight it´s 3,2meters high.
My shop itself will have about 5x12meters.
In mid june i can move in then the place is
empty right now the guy i bought it from still
has his stuff there. Lots to do in the meanwhile.
I have to get the Fastback finished too. :shocking:
To bad that all the cool stuff for a garage are all so expensive
nowadays.

Thanks again! This is my forum it seems!
Bye Jerry
