A friend of mine just turned me onto this site and I have to admit that I have spent way too much time reading through all of your stories. That being said, here is mine...

I am in the process of having a 80' x 50' x 16' garage built. I took a few pictures yesterday and I will take some more today and I will do my best to get them posted here ASAP. Needless to say, there are going to be a lot of garage projects for me during the coming months. I am located on the west end of Houston if anyone is interested on seeing it. Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
B

Hi William,

Actually, this is a packaged deal....I don't have to lift a finger for the initial construction. My fun will come with doing the floors, building an inside air-conditioned work room, installing the compressed air lines, etc.

The frame is held to the slab with some large bolts that were put into the concrete when it was wet. Then they just had to come and bolt the frame to the slab. The small strips down along the base are put in using some sort of concrete nail I think. Not sure how they put them in since I was at work when they did it.

I am not sure if you can see it or not, but there will be 5 doors in total. 4 will be 12' x 12' and one will be 14' x 12' in case we have any really tall projects that come. I am looking forward to building many cars out of this shop over the upcoming years.

He is lying, that is not a garage, that is an airport hanger. Good luck, and to think with luck even a space that size could be filled. Congrats and welcome to the forum.
