Hi everyone, My name is Jim I have been checking this site out for a little over a year. Finally decided to sing up. I bought a house 5 years ago with no garage (that was the reason I bought it) so I could build what I wanted. I am in the HVAC trade and work has not been so great the past 4-5 years. So instead of borrowing money I decided to save for what i wanted. The garage went up this past spring. Thanks for teaching me dad. My garage is 26 wide by 28 deep. 11'-6" cealing down the center. I hired a guy to do the concrete and a guy to frame it and put the overhead door in. The rest I did my self. I plain to buy a 4 post direct lift in the spring. As neat and clean as it is I am not afraid to work in it. I will admit I am ****. I did a epoxy floor. Liftmaster jackshaft opener. The gas line and other materials cost me more than what I paid for the modine unit heater. I don't plain on living ware I live forever otherwise I would have done in floor heat. It was a lot of fun building and can't wait to do it again. I am so glad I found this site. Anyone with questions of comments feel free.

Fantastic garage and first post. Welcome aboard. This is a great site with much knowledge and many ideas. I am considering the Liftmaster 3800 also.

Nice looking place you got there!
You being a Chevy guy makes you alright in my book. I'm sure the company saddled you with the Ford. I know, I have a Ranger to move around in at work.
Welcome!- Look around and ask a question if you need. There's a wealth of knowlege on here.

Welcome aboard! Great looking garage, and I love the Vettes. Is that a '78 Silver Anniversary Edition C-3? BTW I like your workbench also. Is it a Craftsman bench?

The red vette is a 1986 bought it 8 years ago when I was 21. Bought my selfe a vette instead of going out and getting all silly on my birthday. Yes the other one is a 1978 25th red interior l-48 4 speed. It was my dads car. He passed away 4 1/2 years ago just after I bought my house. Wish he was here to see the garage. My mom has been nice enough to let me keep the cars and my tools in here garage while I waited to build it. Some of my best memories are my dad and I hanging out in the garage working on our cars.

The work bench is a craftsman. When I moved it into the new garage I made a new top for it. Its the same as the one that came with it just bigger. Its mdf 1" thick with 20 ga galvinized sheet metal covering it.
