Been a lurker for a while, finally joined.

Built a 24x26 with an 11.5 x 24 attic up top.

Bought a house a couple of years ago, partially because the backyard looked like this.

Just a row of shrubs and a sidewalk to remove.

Start of the pad.

Had run pex for infloor heat, and insulated it.

Built the shell, strapped the roof.

Finished the roof, had the overhead doors installed.

Ran some conduit to backfeed the house, and the telephone service. Pretty much the end of outdoor work that year.

Over winter insulated, drywalled, painted, hung lights etc.

Winter is LONG up here.

Putted around in the attic.

Start of hardi-plank siding hell. Very time consuming doing it solo.

So here is how it stands now.

Did everything myself, except for the concrete and overhead doors.

Spent 35k, had many, many squabbles with the wife, stuffed it full of junk, and I'm nowhere near finished.
Wouldn't trade it for the world.

Really really want to finish the exterior and parking pad this year. Always alot to do.

Welcome, from one 'toban to another.

The inspector let you get away without the cable loops where the cable starts to come up to go into the garage?

Nice work by the way.

Welcome aboard. Nice build. You should acutally post the build in the gallery section-this area does not see too much traffic. We also have a Canadian forum on the board. Click on the black tool bar up top under community. Click on social groups and look for the Canadian flag.

Welcome from Neepawa! That's a great design for a garage, I'd love to do something similar.

Thanks - the cables are just the mts / cable tv drop. Need to clean that up at some point. Inspector didn't even look twice at it.

Will do, thanks for the heads up. :)

MK, what year is that snowblower-1984 ? Had one almost exactly like it. Mine had pushbuttons mounted under levers on the handle in place of mechanical. Either lever depressed would activate the blower. I also had left and right pull knobs on the control panel that would clutch out one wheel at a time for power turning. The thing was a pig weight wise. It finally died so I left it beside the garage hoping someone would steal it. Sure enough a guy shows up on one of my cameras trying to lift it. He gave up and I scrapped it. Yours looks like its it pretty good shape. Aren't those carbs a ***** to work on !

The blower is a 24" 5hp from 1975.

Got it for free, just had to put a new electric start on it $200 touch.

That was my first experience with a carb hehe.... was sick @ home one christmas, and needed something to do.

Not that difficult to rebuild it .. few seals, and a new needle/ float and it was GTG.
