Explain to everyone what "lake effect snow" is !

"snow falling on the lee side of a lake, generated by cold dry air passing over warmer water, especially in the Great Lakes region."

We use to live in Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse, NY.

East of Lake Erie, and South East of Lake Ontario.

I would routinely shovel over 12" of snow back there.

In this (SE) part of MI, we seldom get over 6" of snow.
