Hi this is my first time to post. I have read a few posts from some of the participants and have been very impressed.
I'm an electrical engineer who traveled a bit too much and missed too much of my sons last few years in high school. I didn't want to do the same for my daughter, so I quit and am staying around the house and hustling auto repair (what I can) on craigslist and for friends.
I bought a great many cheap tools from Menards (Northwest discount store), Harbor Freight, craigslist, ebay, and amazon.
I learned some about autos when I was young but not a great deal. So, I have watched 100s of hours of youtube on various topics. I'm amazed at how much helpful advice is out there and available (including The Garage Journal).
I also tinker with electronics. I have picked up a few broken electronics and fixed them for our house because people would rather throw things out than try to fix them.
I look forward to participating in some of the forums here!
