It's finally time to introduce myself after lurking for a few years. 39 years old, male, graphic designer, soon-to-be architect and hot rod builder. We own an old house outside Oslo that we've been renovating for some years now, and a double garage we share with the neighbours (built on the property line). So in fact I only have a single garage...
I've had some ideas for a new garage, but the neighbours are really old and don't want to spend any money on a new garage. The garage is from the 60s and basically a shed, with no insulation and with a gravel floor. I considered building a second garage, but after having our second child we had to extend the house to get more room. This means we've almost maxed out our plot ratio.
So, I can either build a 15 m2 (160 sf) free-standing shed or just try to upgrade my part of the garage. I've decided on the latter, so I'll try to maximise the space and make it a warm, bright, and nice place to be. I've added some pictures of the house, and the garage which is built to look like the neighbour's house from the 1950s.
