Hi guys
I found this site while looking for flooring ideas for my shed and now I have developed a serious case of garage/shed envy.
I had intended to install a few basic items such as flooring and lighting into my current shed, however after spending a few hours on this forum I have realised that my initial plans are no longer sufficient.

My shed is small in comparison to the average garages posted on this site, however it is specifically for my motorcycles (3 at this point in time).

I would appreciate any comments or ideas

Keep up the good work

Cheers

Hey my brother in law lives in Free Mantle Perth is a great town. I wish I could live there. They wont let me in- too old.
Like you bikes. Have a few myself.
My best suggestion for the floor is tile. Or a nice concrete slab.
What are you looking for? My brother in law is a builder-he might be able to help you

Hi rpsurfr,
I live around 50kms (31 miles) from Fremantle which is the other side of Perth and near the hills (good bike roads).
I agree, Freo is a great place, but you need some big $$$$ to live there.
At the moment I have a 6.5m x 3.1m (21' x 10 1/2' ?) colourbond shed which is sitting on a 150mm (6 inch) thick concrete slab (45 mpa).
I have seen a variety of flooring styles in the various threads, such as tiles (as you suggested), carpet and the racedek (?) metal flooring (I hadn't seen this before finding this forum) however I have no idea which flooring would be the best, as I have only had plain concrete in my previous sheds.

While these flooring materials look good, I am a bit concerned about how easy they may be damaged.

I am after a floor that looks good, but is also durable

Cheers

It seems that concrete is the choice world wide. I have concrete with epoxy finish on it and on top of that I have a rubberized mat that helps keep the floor clean and takes the punishment of my lifts - I think if I had to do it again I would do a some other covering. Perhaps a clear finish as to not show the dirt grease and oil spots. The colors show the dirt-

What I have seen in commercial shop is a clear so it looks like a clear coat on top sort of shiny and seems to take the punishment. I would think it is costly- and you need pro to do it, so that is a draw back

I have used epoxy for year- two different brands, one done by me one by a pro- same outcome- not clean- stains and such.

Swing north to Freeo and look for the Electric Whale- a hotel on the water ask for Andy and tell him Ron said to buy you a few beers. We are selling the
Whale this month so hurry. He will piss away the cash and you will have to wait for the ****** to get cash again!

Watch out- he is like me- we can really pound down the brew. Dont lend him money

Thanks for the advice on the epoxy rpsurfr, I will look into what is available here in Perth.
If I get the chance I will call into the whale and see your brother in-law as you suggested. I have never stayed there but I know it has a good reputation.

Good luck with the sale, could be tough in this market.

Cheers
